How It Started
Two Michaels Walk Into a Bar…
It started as a joke. Two guys named Michael kept getting confused for each other at a work event — wrong name badges, missed calls, the whole thing. By the end of the night, one of them said: "We should just have a convention for Michaels." The other one said: "Yeah, we should."
That was it. No business plan. No budget. Just a dumb, wonderful idea that neither of them could let go of. We posted about it online, a few hundred Michaels showed up to the first meetup, and we ran out of name tags in the first hour.
We're still figuring it out. But the community is real, the energy is real, and every Michael who shows up makes this thing more worth building.

Our first major milestone. One thousand people named Michael, gathered in one place at the same time. This is the goal that makes everything else possible.

The largest gathering of people named Michael ever recorded. We're going for the official Guinness World Record — and we need every Michael we can find to make it happen.

What counts as a valid Michael name?
Any recognized variant of Michael in any language or culture — Mike, Mikey, Mick, Mickey, Mikhail, Mikael, Miguel, Michele, Michal, Mihail, and more. When in doubt, you're probably in.
Is this actually free?
Yes. Registering your city and joining the community is completely free. We want to build the community first — everything else comes later.
I'm not named Michael. Can I still come?
The community is for Michaels, but we're not going to turn anyone away from a meetup. Bring a Michael friend and come say hi.
How do I help make this happen?
Register your city, spread the word to every Michael you know, and follow along as we grow. The more Michaels we find, the closer we get to the world record.
When is the first big event?
